⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ There truly are not enough words to express how thankful our family is for St. Croix Hospice and the entire Mason City team. When you first hear the word “hospice,” it can be scary and intimidating. It is a conversation no family ever wants to have, because you know what it means and what lies ahead. But from the moment St. Croix became involved in my granny’s care, they brought a sense of comfort and peace during one of the hardest times our family has ever experienced. The love, compassion, patience, and dignity they showed my granny during her final stages of life meant more to us than they will ever know. They made sure she was comfortable, cared for, and treated like a person not just a patient. They were gentle with her, talked to her, and showed her the kindness she deserved all the way through her final days. What meant just as much was how they cared for our family. They answered our questions, explained what was happening, reassured us when we were scared, and helped prepare us for things we never thought we would have to face. During moments when we felt helpless, they helped us feel like we weren’t going through it alone. Losing our granny was incredibly difficult, but knowing she was comfortable and surrounded by such compassionate care gave our family a sense of peace that we will always be grateful for. To the Mason City St. Croix Hospice team: thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such wonderful care of our granny. Thank you for being there for her and for us during such a precious and heartbreaking time. They were all amazing!! Although my mother was only on hospice a few short days, the attention they gave to her and our family was wonderful. I even had to call a nurse in the middle of the night for guidance and she was so understanding and caring. Putting a loved one on hospice is never easy, but the Mason City employees made it much easier to get through. ❤️
