St. Croix Hospice was a suggestion for my mom who was living in assisted living and starting to show signs of decline with her vascular dementia. Adon – who was mom’s primary nurse was ABSOLUTELY EXTRAORDINARY! This guy took care of my mom so well, she would get excited when she knew it was a visit day. It was really cute.As mom’s dementia progressed and she was then moved into memory care, there were daily visits by different nurses, counselors and spiritual guidance people. They all took the time to sit with mom, get to know her and participate in events at her community. I would get daily calls or text messages on how the visit went, if there were any concerns and also communicated with where my mom was staying. The last three weeks of mom’s life, we worked on getting all of her food blended, a nurse would feed her for every meal, they helped bathe her, change her clothes and incontinence items…I cannot explain how wonderful they were to her. After mom passed, the staff came to mom’s MC, and prepared her for us to have our last prayer and moments with her, before she was taken to the funeral home. I wish I could remember all of the names of everyone who were involved, as it was an army. They were all so respectful and showed so much love for mom.I feel we were truly blessed by all of the time, attention and love they gave to mom as well as myself, son and husband.Thank you St. Croix for taking such tender care of my mom! You were exactly what mom needed with her last months of life.
