As a Director of Nursing in long-term care, I have had the opportunity to work with many different hospice providers, and I truly appreciate when a hospice team understands the importance of working together with facility staff for the best interest of our residents. Our experience with this hospice company has been wonderful, but I especially want to recognize the nurse assigned to our facility. Sarah Alleman has been an incredible partner to our nursing team. Her communication is consistent and timely, she listens to our concerns, and she works collaboratively with us rather than simply providing a service and leaving. There is a genuine sense that we are one team working toward the same goal. Most importantly, she truly advocates for our residents. She takes the time to understand each resident as an individual and is equally supportive of their families and our staff during what can be very difficult circumstances. In long-term care, strong communication and collaboration between hospice and facility staff can make an incredible difference in a resident’s end-of-life experience. We are very grateful to work along Sarah who shares our commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care and who feels like an extension of our own team

When I needed to get my mom into hospice care I asked the facility she was in on referrals of places I could reach out to. St Croix was one of them. I went to their website and instantly felt it was perfect for my mom as well as my dad after she passed. I was so right and it was more than I expected. They did so much for my mom from sitting with her, being there for dad, answering our questions, praying with them and helping with care. They also gussied up mom for their 71st wedding anniversary. They had a cake for them and made it very special. Then when mom was passing they were there with dad and I. Very comforting. During the first year after moms passing his social worker Andrea was there with visits each month. She was the highlight of dad’s day when she came. He loved her visits and helping him with his puzzles. She also gave me peace knowing dad had someone to talk to. They are the BEST !
