Patient’s Wish Educates, Supports Local High School Students
Last year, Rodney, a patient at our Strawberry Point, Iowa, branch, was able to fulfill his wish of speaking to local high school students about serving in the Vietnam War and the valuable life lessons he learned.
His impact on the students was both immediate and long-lasting. Rodney received thank you cards after he met with them, but they continued to warm his heart with Christmas and New Years cards too. He hopes the brief but meaningful interaction he had with these students inspire them to grow into more resilient, compassionate, and happy individuals.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to St. Croix Hospice Social Worker Jackie and Ms. Schellhorn of MFL MarMac High School for making Rodney’s wish a reality.
