So far I am very pleased with the care my mother is getting. RN’s Sarah and Marci are terrific and explain things thoroughly and answer any questions I may have. The aides Jamie and Tasha treat mom with dignity and genuine care. .
My father had been in the hospital since October. At the time, it was December, and he took a turn, fast. I asked the hospital if they could call their hospice (unknown company) so we could get him home and they advised since it was a Saturday it wouldn't be possible. We would have to wait until Monday morning for them to call... so I called a few places myself. And I got the same answer time after time, it was the weekend and I needed to wait until a business day. I was honestly shocked. My father did not choose this. Medical situations are out of our control. So, the last place I called was St. Croix Hospice and spoke with Katie. She is an absolute angel. She's the regional director for all of the offices. She immediately went to work, taking the initiative to call the hospital herself and request the paperwork. She kept me in the loop the whole time. She had the equipment set up to be delivered the following day (I didn't call her until 4pm). Unfortunately my father passed away that same night at 11pm so we were unable to get him home. But I will say it was so nice to feel like I had some control of the situation with Katie's help. We had a plan in place and we had the ball rolling. I would recommend this place to anyone after all of the compassion and help that Katie offered. Even though we hadn't actually used St. Croix, Katie still offered their bereavement services go my family at no cost as well.
I need you all to know how much my family and me appreciated your expertise and care that your organization provided our lovely mother. From the moment I contacted Randy the staff went into action by his direction.Jaquetta was the first to arrive at our home, assessed my mother’s situation and guaranteed you all would make her comfortable and you did. She ordered the hospital bed, oxygen and a plan for pain management.Xavier arrived with the bed, set it up expeditiously and taught me how to operate it and the oxygen. He is a very nice young man.Rachel, the RN took her vitals, assured us she was comfortable.Cheryl, the RN who came one evening and again assured us mom was comfortable. She taught me how to be more efficient when changing mom’s sheets and diapers. She cleaned her up so nicely and gently.Catherine, the RN, who arrived on the scene when mom passed was awesome!Michael, Social Worker, arrived on the scene as well and sincerely comforted us to the point that I could finally catch my breath. You are all a credit to your profession, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did for our mother and for all you do for others during this painful time.I love St. Croix Hospice, Plymouth, MIMichelle Glovier#3 daughter
